When is the enrollment period?
There are two enrollment periods in a year. In April and in October
What is necessary to enroll?
It is necessary submitting the documents to obtain the student visa. Please check all the details of documents on the homepage.
Is there any age restriction?
There is no age restriction, but the school accepts only those students who have graduated in the former school within five years.
Which kind of procedure is necessary to undertake to enroll in the school?
First, contact the School via e-mail please.
When should I start the enrollment procedure?
If you want to apply for the course that starts in April, all the documents should be filed by the end of October of the previous year. Similarly, for the course that starts in October, all the documents should be filed by the end of April.
May I enroll even if I have never studied Japanese?
When you apply for the student visa you have to proof, with a certificate, that you studied Japanese at least for 150 hours. If you have never studied Japanese you cannot register to the School.
How long obtaining the student visa takes?
For students expected to come in Japan in April, the visa will be issued about the end of February. For students expected to come in October, it will be issued at the end of August.
How many hours of lesson are there per day?
Class are held from Monday to Friday, each class consist of 3 hours.
Is possible to use credit cart to pay the school?
The school don`t accept credit cards
Where students come from?
The majority of students come from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Nepal, Thailand, Mongolia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Indonesia, Korea, Brazil and other countries.
Is there any place where I can use a laptop?
Yes there is. There are also computers available for students
Are there also lessons in english or other languages?
Our School use a direct teaching method, for that reason every lesson is taught in Japanese.
How do you make class divisions?
When students arrive, before starting the lessons, they have to take a placement test.
Is there any scholarship?
The school does not have a scholarship. But in Japan there are many different types of scholarship systems. For example, a scholarship is issued when you have good academic records at the Examination for Japanese University (EJU).
What kind of textbook is used?
For beginners we start using “Minna no Nihongo 1.” However, the textbook is chose depend on students ability.
What kind of preparative should I do for higher-level school after graduate YAMATE?
You can talk with School staff about what kind of school you would like to go after YAMATE preparatory course. Our team will support and guide you.
Do you have a dormitory?
The school has a dormitory for students. The dormitory is equipped with all the necessary facilities so that students can spend their time in relax and without trouble. In principle students live in the dormitory for their first half year in Japan.
Can I do part time job?
After applying at the Immigration Bureau office for a “permission to engage in activity other than that permitted under the status of residence”, is possible to engage working activity. With this certificate it is possible to work 28 hours per week. During summer, winter and spring vacation students can work maximum of 8 hours per day. International students have some restriction regarding the par time job, for that reason before start any activity ask to the School staff.
How much one month life expenses would cost about?
There are many expenses like rent, electricity, water, meals, telephone charges and so on, of course life expenses depend on each person, but the majority of people live with 70,000 ~ 80,000 yen per month.
